Breanna G. is a 16 year old girl from Port Huron South that is in the culinary rotation here. So far in the program she's made all sorts of food like sugar cookies, turn-overs, and no-bake cookies. She's even watched videos on culinary arts and has gotten to taste what she has made. Talk about lucky! Tomorrow they are making omelets and next week they are preparing food for their banquet for their two guests of their choice.
Even though it sounds fun, you still have to work. At the end of the day they all have to take time in cleaning which really doesn't take that long at all. Instead of just one person cleaning a spot it's usually two or three, on wipes and disinfects, the others take dishes, pots/pans to the dishwasher and pots/pans washer and the other puts other miscellaneous things away. She said her favorite part of the day is scooping cookies out of the bowls, they usually make around 500 cookies a day! She also said that it was very hard to describe the group and culinary arts rotation. "It's fun but I just don't know how to describe it." she stated to me.
